The door handles broke off.
There is a lot of stuff that went wrong with the car, by misuse of the previous owner.
I love this car.
It's fast, good looking and will run forever.
I totally agree with you. I have a 1988 Buick Regal Limited, and the car is highly reliable. The door handle on the driver side is broken off, but that is to be expected, as much as this car is put through. It still has no dents, scratches or anything. Very reliable!
I think these door handles are a common and annoying problem. I fixed mine on my 89 Regal Limited after 2 hours of work. Lovely design!!! A used one runs $100... Excellent car though!!!
I frequently go to the Auto salvage yards and see many broken off door handles on these cars. This problem drives me crazy. My sister drives a two door 1989 Buick Regal and I drive a 4-Door 1991 Buick Regal. The handles have broken and been replaced on both cars!
Both of my door handles broke at the same time. I love this car. 130,000 miles and it is still going strong. I had to replace the coil pack recently.
I wholeheartedly agree. This may be the best car I have ever owned! But, I must admit that the door handles did suck before I replaced them. I have had my '88 Regal Custom for 2 years now and all I have had to do was brakes and a tune-up. (not counting the door handles...lol) BEST $200 CAR ON THE MARKET!!!
I have had my Regal for about two years now, replaced the head liner myself for about 30 bucks in fabric and glue, door handle bought online for 25 bucks with lifetime warranty, and an oil pressure sending unit.
Other than that, at 60,000 miles I think (HOPE) I have a lot more use outta it.
