Hi, need help with my Buick Regal 1991. Bought the car from a friend last year - March 2005, I have spent so much money on this car practically every month through the year., my friend at the shop just got tired of working on the car.. I have replaced almost every part in this car, the brakes, radiator, transmission, sensors, the list goes on.
Sometimes it cut off after driving for an hour. When I make a hard left it cuts off. The service engine light keep coming on like crazy. I think I just bought a problem car..
Will some on tell me what to do.

I have a '91 Regal Custom that I bought from a family member. I've had it now going on 2 years. It is a very comfortable ride. I have had the same problems as listed above... door locks freezing up, brakes going out, water pump going, odometer not working, motor mounts deteriorating, etc. It makes a weird "wah wah wah" sound driving down the road...I've just gotten used to it, but anytime someone gets in my car they say "WHAT IS THAT!!" and I don't know what it is!
I have to say that the car has COLD AC which I LOVE - living in Texas that's very important! For the first time, after idling in heavy traffic - I stopped for lunch and when I went back out to my car, it wouldn't start up - it ran really rough. That is the first time it's done that to me... so I guess (hope) it's just time for a tune up.

I bought a used 91 Buick Regal Custom from a friend about a year ago. The car ran great when I first got it, but recently I have been having the same problem as noted above. My car will just shut off (all power fails) as I'm turning corners or going at slow speeds. This is dangerous and scary for me as the power steering is pretty much impossible to maneuver. Sometimes when I run into a store or are parked for a short amount of time my car won't even start up again, but it has been running just fine all week. It has had all it's regular maintenance done. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I purchased my baby 12/02 a 91 Regal 2D Custom and for the price it was worth it. The motor is very good and I have done some repairs and replacement parts. I just experienced some problems with my alternator and had to trace the wires now it is running better after the wires were replaced. Maintenance is key and all makes and models has wear and tear. I just thank God I have the patience to get to know my car.

I have a 1991 Regal which also cuts off while driving when letting off the gas pedal. Sometimes it won't start when being parked for short periods of time. Most of the time, when the car cuts off I am able to start it right back up.
Any help with this would be appreciated, all sensors have been replaced.

I own a 1991 Buick Regal, and I call her Regina. The car runs and I mean runs. I am a big guy so the large seats fit me fine. I really love the power it has. To comment on the people who say they hate the car. If you don't take care of the care and get it serviced on a regular it won't run well as with any car. Also sure some things just go out with time (water pump, fuel pump, brakes, etc). I love the car and I would never trade it for the world. Buick driver for life.
