2002 Chevrolet Blazer 4dr LS 4WD 4.3L V6 from North America

Summary:

It goes from highway to off-Road in 1 second, and handles like a dream on both

Faults:

No major defects.

Changed headlights (minor preventative maintenance)

General Comments:

It's an incredible ride!

Great in snow, rain, fog, ice.

Suspension feels like a truck should.

Averages about 16 mpg; not as good as my Cavalier at 24mpg, but it's a truck!

2002 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3L from North America

Summary:

Chevy dropped the ball, would never buy another.

Faults:

Under warranty: 4wd servo motor on transfer case

Out of warranty: Third brake light $130, brake pads (about $100), changed transmission fluid at 40k (saved it I guess), idler arm failed (about $75), 4wd refused to properly engaged (left it in 2wd mode), transfer case blew up at 65k along with the rear axle (replaced with salvage yard parts, $1000), replacement rear axle is grinding the brake pad holder, driver's door is sagging, and back door (tailgate style) has handle busted up.

General Comments:

Size and carrying capacity as expected.

Engine could have been matched better for better gas mileage (15 'round town, 17 highway)

Third seat like the Trailblazer would have helped too.

Would like to trade in for a Honda Pilot, just can't afford that right now.

I own a 2002 chey Blazer put in a new fuel pump cost $750.00 a new third light $250.00 And now while driving the truck down the road it just dies like as if you turned the key. I took it a chevy dealer the computer said it was the mass air flow sensor cost me $500.00 And the problem still exist I am currently stranded in Oklahoma with this issue. I am thinking that it might be a ignition switch or fuel pump relay problem. I will never buy another blazer again...

2002 Chevrolet Blazer ZR2 V6 from North America

Summary:

Love my truck, just hope it stays in one piece :(

Faults:

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck! But I'm just waiting for the windshield wipers to fly off.. If you've ever owned a GMC or Chevy, you know what I'm talking about.

I've owned my truck for 3 months, and already something has broken in the rear end.. Every time I turn a corner, everything shakes and it feels like my truck's going to fall apart. I'll find out tomorrow if the dealership will do anything to fix it.. urgh.

General Comments:

It's got power and the four wheel drive is great.

I like the stance of the truck and the look of the fender flares. The seats are very comfy :)

2002 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3 from Iceland

Summary:

Very good overall 4WD vehicle - with a few flaws

Faults:

Nothing much has gone wrong with the car except that the alarm system seems to be very weak. It does not like frequent weather changes around freezing point. In such weather the alarm system has a mind of its own and has gone off several times with horn honking and lights blinking. Does anyone know how to deal with this, how to really fix this?

In 4WD it is very hard to make a U-turn. Seems like the car is breaking hard when making full or near full turn.

Brake discs are made of a material that easily rusts, so if you don't move the car for a month or so, at least in humid condition, you will get a very uneven braking.

General Comments:

The Blazer is a very comfortable vehicle for a SUV. It is smooth and quiet. However the mirrors tend to block the view too much. But they are good to reverse by.

The standard seats are among the best seats my back has ever experienced.

6 disc broke day I bought it (dealer fixed it).

Cruise control inoperable (dealer fixed it).
