"Whoa, look at that, type of car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I've only had the car 4 months, and I've had to do a lot of maintenance so far.

For starters it came without a stereo or speakers.

The hinge on the center console was broken off.

There were no driving lights.

The glove box lock was broken.

The spark plugs and wires were immediatley replaced, poor prior owner up-keep.

The passenger side window rolls extremely slowly.

The hood looks like its been weathered, no clear coat.

There is a leak in the muffler system, and the factory muffler is rusting out.

The oil pan has a small rust leak.

The passenger side door has been replaced, along with the front fender.

Replaced the front outer tie rods at 160K.

There is a large crack in the dashboard.

The windshield is scraped because the wrong size wipers were used, as a result the drivers side wiper arm needed to be replaced.

The wiper motor was out of place, needed to be re-aligned at 159k.

There is a rip in the drivers side seat.

Came with a bulldog starter kit, that only worked when it wanted to.

The A/C still doesn't work, after repeated attempts to charge it.

General comments?

Aside from all the problems, I love my Camaro. It really sticks out in a crowd.

I plan on doing a total overhaul on the paint job from red to black, and getting black outs for the front and rear lights.

Changing the muffler and air filter should increase the horsepower, it still is mean for a 3.4.

Not very much people room, but who needs it to be.

Love the power seat.

I just bought snow tires and rims for it, for the good ole' snow.

In general it looks sportier than a mustang, maybe because the roads are littered with 'stangs, they're not individualistic anymore.

I love the looks I get from random people as I drive by, gives you a sense of importance.

Based on your description of the car, I doubt that the looks you are getting are admiration...

The OIL PAN has a rust leak? What does the rest of the underside look like? Seriously, before you start spending money on paint and blackouts you should check the running gear and brake lines for corrosion, suspect you will find at least some in need of replacement.

I have a maroon 1993 camaro z28 and it's a rip snortin mustang eatin bad mofo from hell.

I recenty bought it off a friend a couple of months ago and so far the only thing that it needed was a new tranny I put a 700r4 turbo in it and its drives like a dream, I hear the trannys were always giving problems in these models becouse of the torque coming out of the engine and the way people drive them...

The body is awsome for the year and has been very reliable so far no rust bad dents or damage anywhere, he really didn't take care of it all the well and had to replace the dash and drivers side seat wich isn't that bad considering it has over 140XXX on it.

I drive it to work every day and out show all the supposed "tuner" car drivers out there (guys with slow pos hondas or toyotas with retarted lookin wings and loud ass fart cans....all show and no go...).

So far I've put a flow master exaust system in it and new tires and now sounds like a beast from hell i also put a hypertech racing performace chip in and a k@n air filter, I love it, it has that oldschool muscle car rumble to it and I get asked about it all the time.

I get compliments on it all the time and mustang fanatics are always tryin to show me up... BUT WE ALL KNOW WHOS THE BETTER OF THE TWO, FORD SUCKS!!!, it's a real head turner and pretty much blows most of those rice burnin imports out of the water.

For the price I paid for it 2,000 it's a pretty reliable and flashy car I would take a chevy camaro over a ford mustang any day.

I have to agree with you. I too just purchased a 1993 z28 camaro. this car was well taken care of. the paint and body is flawless. the engine and tranny were rebuilt. the interior is in good shape. the only thing I had to do was a major tune up only because I wanted to. I have added a flowmasters and k&N kit on it. I will alway choose a camaro over a stang.

I have a 1988 IROC Z28 and it drives like a dream. It is My Panther-mobile Actually. I am very happy I got the Restoration done Last Summer.
