1993 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 5.0 V8 from North America

Summary:

Reliable, Reliable, Reliable!

Faults:

No problems so far. Regular "wear and tear" items.

This caprice was an ex-police car so I assume It was properly maintained.

General Comments:

The car Is perfect in almost every way.

Plenty of room, very comfortable, great for everyday driving or for long distance hauls.

However, I do have one complaint.

Awful fuel economy (even for a large car like this).

I would suggest the optional 4.3 or

5.7 liter.

1993 Chevrolet Caprice LS V8 5.0 from North America

Summary:

A smooth reliable ride

Faults:

The alternator has been replaced twice.

The cruise control doesn't work.

The horn doesn't always work.

The turn signals don't work well.

These systems only recently stopped working, and can easily be replaced.

General Comments:

This car has been in eight accidents including getting totaled from behind, and it still runs perfectly fine.

This beast of a car is the safest car I have ever ridden in.

It is an excellent family car because it has such roomy interior.

1993 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 5.7 Liter V8 from North America

Summary:

A big rear wheel drive V8. BUY ONE!

Faults:

I purchased it from the Postal Service where it led a pretty easy life as an Inspector's office car. Mechanically it's a dream. I paid over 4 thousand below Blue Book when I bought it and there was about a thousand dollars worth of stuff that needed fixing. Since then the starter has died but that's been about it. New brakes and regular maintenance keeps it running perfectly. And I abuse it.

General Comments:

They truly don't make em like this anymore. What passes for a 'full size' car nowadays is quite sad. A big, rear wheel drive V8 that is less than 50 gs. TRUST ME. BUY ONE!!

1993 Chevrolet Caprice LTZ 3.1 MPFI from Finland

Summary:

Great car to drive and quite reliable too

Faults:

Alternator went at 100k. Rear shock absorbers changed at 100k. Windshield washer's motor replaced at 85k.

Headlamp wiring was a bit loosely installed, causing lamps to stay on or off on an irregular basis.

Great car to drive and mpg is satisfactory even with high Finnish gas prices.
