Sounds like the previous owner beat on it a bit too hard. It's lived a hard life despite the low mileage.

Likely needs a new fuel filter. I had that issue with my C5. Saw it weeping on the left rear side. Just for conversation, that’s where the exhaust is located. Directly behind it.

It seems like you feel insulted that the reviewer had reliability problems, purchased an automatic and has trouble getting in and out of the car.

My opinion.

The fuel smell was covered by a GM service bulletin that extended warranty coverage for 10 years or 120,000 miles. The top of the fuel pump assembly cracked, or the gasket between fuel pump and tank leaked.

I always loved my career and got to travel many places. It’s more pronounced with the Covid situation. Owning a car like this and other cool ones makes life fun too. When you retire, you have a lot of memories vs waiting til then to start. My uncle dropped dead at 56. I’m still buying every few years. My reflexes and eyesight are not as good so eventually I will move on. I bought the review car except i was a 2013 all option 4LT manual 6 speed. Did shoes and cruise nights and club events with my wife. A car like this ideal for couples. A lot of fun taking a lot of late models in a pack to destinations. This year all events are vanishing. It might be a good time to buy now. Summer Corvette’s are typically higher, especially convertibles. The key option on this car is to find with magnetic ride, Grand Sport over the Z06 for distant driving, manual offers the hand built engine and dry sump systems 10 1/2 quarts Mobil 1 vs 6 quarts. Dual mode exhaust. With 4 LT full leather, different steering wheel and console with the blue leather. My car was white with silver stripes.
