The car has had 4 air conditioning overhauls. Headliner if falling. Speakers died.
I've owned 5 Sprint-Geo cars over the years. This one is the worst of the bunch. By the time the warranty expired the air conditioning had been replaced 4 times. It is presently broken again. I change the oil every 3000 miles religiously. The engine is beginning to smoke. To replace the radio speakers you must disassemble the entire interior panels.
It's nothing new that you have to remove the interior panels to access the speakers. You have to do that on most every car.
I have 2000 1.3L 5-speed 2-dr hatchback with A/C. Bought one yr ago in KC, now at 120,000 miles. Had to replace timing belt, fix a coolant leak in the A/C, and have 5-speed overhauled. Also replaced the speakers.
The car looks and runs like new. First drive from KC to Lincoln NE gave 51 MPG. I have averaged 38 to 40 MPG with mostly city driving. Uses no oil. Fun to drive.
Two full sets of golf clubs and pull carts go right into the hatchback. Haul full size bike - no problem. This is a great car, I'm happy to have it.
