1993 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe 2.8L V6 from North America

Summary:

Very dependable old truck

Faults:

Nothing more than rust, and basic maintenance.

General Comments:

I just purchased the truck a couple months ago, and so far I love it. Drives well for it's age, loses a little bit of power around gears 3-4-5, but otherwise I have no complaints about this truck. I have several friends who own nearly identical trucks and they are all beat to hell, but mine was very well worth the $500 that I spent to buy it. Also a great hauler.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 4.3 V6 TBI from North America

Summary:

It's A Real Looker!

Faults:

Only one part has been replaced the Heater Core, very common I learned.

Ball Joints look like they will be replaced soon.

The Left Valve Cover Breathers hose busted lose.

General Comments:

My Truck is Black, and looks great for it's age. Many people comment on how well it looks!

The truck has enough power to burn-out and lite up onlookers eyes.

Stylish off of the show room floor, practical transportation for short commutes.

I have an Extended Bed Short Cab with a fiberglass cap and gas mileage is lost with it on the truck.

I get 20 m.p.g. at best, but this truck is GREAT! It's never done me wrong.

I will keep it for ever because the truck is SO EASY TO WORK ON!!!

I love it to cruse around in, SO COMFORTABLE!

I had a 88' Integra Manual that sadly was rear-ended at 60m.p.h. in front of my house one night.

I had wanted this truck that was for sale, $2,500 and I bought the Truck!

1993 Chevrolet S-10 TAHOE 2.8L- V6 from North America

Summary:

A very dependable and economical little truck.

Faults:

Water pump went out shortly after buying the truck, but was an easy and inexpensive repair. At about the same time the radiator developed a leak, I took it to the shop and was advised that it was in my best interest to replace the radiator with a new one, about $300.The heater core started leaking in the passenger side floorboard, this was a little difficult to replace, but inexpensive. (approx.130,000 miles)

Alternator quit working, replaced it. It was also an easy and inexpesive repair. (approx.150,000 miles and $75 to fix)

Paint is really faded and chipping, starting to rust in some places.

General Comments:

Great work truck!

Very good on gas! (Approx.20 city/24 hwy.)

Really reliable truck, it has never left me stranded, except when I ran it out of gas, that was my fault though.

Drives and rides very good.

Cab only seats two comfortably (regular cab and manual trans.)

Really a very low maintenance vehicle, other than regular wear and tear.

I am disappointed they no longer build this wonderful truck!

1993 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe 2.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

This truck is very good

Faults:

The air conditioner needs to be charged.

The seats and console need to be replaced.

Interior needs some work.

General Comments:

This is my first vehicle. It is very dependable. It has plenty of power coming out of the small V-6. I would gladly purchase this truck again if the chance came to me. There needs to be a little more interior lights, but I can deal with what it has.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe LT 4.3 Vortex from North America

Summary:

Good Transportation

Faults:

Idle air control code flashes even though I replaced it. And gave complete tune up!

Two of the four power window motors need replaced.

The power door lock button on drivers door no longer functions.

Power door lock on drivers door only functions sometimes.

General Comments:

Besides the above, it has been a decent 4 door mini blazer. Leather interior and fully loaded.

Great city vehicle as it turns on a dime in a parking lot, I can U-turn in tight spaces.

Inside it is tight with the center console. The good part is you can reach everything!

The cup holders are useless. To shallow and too wide for most everything except a mug of coffee.

I only put about 7,000 miles on it so far, but besides the electrical problems, it has been reliable.
