1993 Chevrolet S-10 tahoe 4.3 from North America

Summary:

Good running truck

Faults:

I bought the truck as a winter beater, it had 132,000 miles on it when I bought it and now its up to 133,000.

So far I've replaced the fenders and cab corners due to rust.

Replaced thermostat.

Put new shocks on it.

Replaced switch for power locks.

General Comments:

You never know how much power a 4.3 liter engine has until you drive one with a 5 speed behind it. T he truck has a lot of power and the bucket seats and power windows and locks make riding in the truck very enjoyable.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 tahoe pickup 4.3 litir non vortec from North America

Summary:

Strong and reliable truck for the money and size

Faults:

My throttle body gasket started leaking at about 82,000 miles.

General Comments:

Plenty of power off the line and great passing considering it's a smaller truck. great truck for light weight work or pulling smaller trailers or aluminum boats. The rear end get really slippery in the rain and there is almost no traction in the snow with out weight over the axle.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 Base 2.5 Gasoline from North America

Summary:

An economical workhorse

Faults:

I have had to replace the lower ball joints at 60000 miles. I recommend that you never try to install these by yourself without the proper tools. This job took me six hours and a lot of pain.

The shocks at 50000 miles. I changed these in a parking lot of the apartment complex that I lived. They are not to difficult to install.

The water pump at 40000 miles. The water pump blew on the interstate and I had to pull off the next exit and have a local shop fix it. I think I got ripped because they charged me 350 dollars for a job I could have done for 50 dollars, 3 hours of labor and my basic tool set.

I had to replace the front brakes at 60000 miles for the first time. After pulling off the drum in the rear, the rear shoes were still above manufacturer's specs... :)

The seats have ripped on the driver side, easily solved by a seat cover.

One that has upset me was the fact that the heat decided to stop working in the middle of winter. I have installed an On-Off toggle switch to solve this. It blows always on high now.

General Comments:

Other that the simple things above, the truck has been great. It does not leak, sputter or make the smallest hint of a cough. The truck handles really well and will haul anything that will fit in the bed. I have decided to spend some money and get the truck painted and have a couple of neat additions. I love this truck and I will probably never get rid of it. One last thing, the truck is extremely easy to work on, if you are into that sort of thing.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 2.8 from North America

Summary:

Perfect project truck

Faults:

I have had to perform no major repairs on this vehicles other than an upper ball joint. the wheel bearings need to be replaced as well as the alternator.

General Comments:

This truck is bullet proof. I have owned 6 s-10 pick ups over the last four years. all have been project trucks i. e paint, lowering, etc.. I have found the s-10 to be the most reliable and affordable truck to performs major modifications to. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone. mine sits on a 6 inch suspension drop and handling is unreal.

1993 Chevrolet S-10 2.8 V6 from North America

Summary:

Good truck at a great price

Faults:

I purchased this truck brand new and have owned it almost 10 years now. I have only had two things go wrong with the vehicle.

When I first purchased the truck, the right speaker would go out when I took a hard turn. This problem somehow fixed itself and has not happened again for the last nine years.

The other problem is a small oil leak that developed in the vehicle a few years ago. When I take the truck in to get an oil change, they tell me that the oil was a quart low. This has not been a problem and I haven't even tried to get this fixed.

General Comments:

This is the first and only vehicle I have owned. Although the truck has low mileage on it (a little over 60000 miles) it has still held up far better than I thought it would. Other than the usual expenses (like gas and oil changes) I haven't had to put any money in to this truck.
