1998 Chevrolet S-10 LS review from North America
"I will rebuild this friend before I replace!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 40,000 miles it needed a Windshield Wiper motor, but a friend grabbed the wiper in motion, so it wasn't trucks fault.
At 97,000 it needed rear Universal Joint; I use the truck to move motorcycles so the heavy hauling probably took them out kinda soon (need torch to melt glue if you every replace!).
At 114,000 it needed 1st replacement clutch and since the slave cylinder is inside the transmission I replaced it as well.
General comments?
The truck has been very reliable. It looks as good as it runs, with 130,000 miles! I've replaced a clutch and universal joints both cheap general wear items. I used to drive it hard and it's still very reliable; I guess I'm getting older and smarter, but it took my abuse! The engine still runs 160lbs of compression fairly uniform across all four cylinder (At 130k miles!). Plus you can't beat the frigid A/C!
