1986 Chevrolet Sprint 2 door hatchback review from North America
"A tough little warrior"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced both drive shafts twice (second set free under warranty) and clutch once.
Under normal maintenance, it needed a set tires twice, a muffler, a fuel filter, an air filter, a few bulbs here and there, an alternator and one set of brake pads/shoes all around. Also an oil change with filter about every 5,000 miles.
General comments?
This is the most economical car I have driven. I purchased the car for 800 dollars. I have driven this car farther than any new car I have had in the past (150,000 miles). It also has a "spunky" motor that zips around pretty well and can still get 50 miles to the gallon of gas on the highway.
It is also a very tough little car. Since I had the car I accidently hit a pheasant, a deer, a raccoon, and a pick-up in a parking lot. Also, it was hailed on and by softball sized hail which blew out the front and rear windows and left several dimples in the roof and hood of the car.
