Update on the above 2001 Chrysler 300m. Since Jan 2006, I have put 12000 miles on this thing. So far, not one single problem. The more I drive it, the more I like it. It surprises me how many people comment on how much they like the styling... and then I show them the cool blue dash lights! oooohhhhh. The worst things I can say about it is that it is a bit more noisy than I would like, but still not bad. Also, the trunk is not as big as the LHS's mafia three body trunk... but still enough for most trips with four folks aboard.

I would be willing to bet money that the reason your 99' intrepid is not running is because of the 2.7 engine.

I have a 2000 300m with 20000 miles on it. Bought in 1999 and this is 2007. Not the first problem. Love it.

Update on original post: 68,000 miles now. Not one problem. I discovered that a lot of the interior noise issue was solved with different tires. Much quieter now. Very impressed. Too bad Chrysler is such a financial mess...

I have a 2001 300M, greatest car I have ever owned. It had high miles when I bought it with 93K, and it's now close to 104K. No mechanical problems at all so far.

For those that own a 300M, I recommend joining the 300M Enthusiast's Club (www.300mclub.org). It's only $15 per year, and is constantly updated by members posting detailed instructions for repairs and maintenance.

There's a member there with over 350,000 miles on his M. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Happy driving.

Update to original post: 75K and still going strong. Not one single problem. Not one! Still love this car. I've thought of maybe "upgrading" to a 300C or a Charger. I have rented both and, frankly, the 300m has a much nicer interior. The newer cars are very stark with lots of hard plastic bits. Maybe upscale, non-rental models are nicer. They handle like slot cars, though... I'll keep the 300M for a while longer.

Update to original post. 86k miles now with not one problem. I'm beginning to think the car wants to outlive me!

I bought my 300 M brand new in 2001, it is now 2010 and haven't had one single issue with it. I love it!! It now has 134000 kilometers on it and is still going strong. It's too bad Chrysler is not making the 300 M anymore, I'd buy it again for sure. I hit a deer awhile ago and had to have a rental car for a while, the Ford Focus is absolutely no comparison to my 300 M. I am so glad to have my car back.

I love this car!!
