Brakes had to be replaced around 140,000 miles.

A/C compressor died around 150,000 miles.

Reverse went out of transmission around 160,000 miles.

Several electrical problems, most notably the random turning on of the heater, full blast, with no ability to turn it off other than to wait it out.

Very large, both in cabin and trunk.

Fairly comfortable, particularly for the age of the car.

Engine has been reliable, though not much else has been.

Poor gas mileage.

Being a mid-90s Chrysler, I have personally been amazed that it still drives after 12 years and 173,000 miles.

I bought my 93 Concorde in 95 with only 40,000 miles on it. for the first 3 years it wasnt bad, just normal maintenance. However, it soon became what I called... Possessed. The trunk would pop open, the doors would unlock and the horn would start to blare and refuse to shut off. Finally after litterally 15 trips to the 4 dealerships in my area they tracked down the problem with the remote keyless entry system. It was shorting out so I just had it clipped out and no more problems for about 4 years. However, now the heater would come on full blast for no reason and would have to wait it out. That lasted for about a month then just stopped on its own. That possession of the heater left and went to the windshield wipers. They now only work on full speed. I've had the problem diagnosed as the Body Control Module. I'm still waiting to see how much this will cost to repair.

On the whole the car runs great, handles nicely and can give any mustang or pocket rocket a run for their money.

The original reviewer sounds as though he had a great car, and it seemed like it deserved much better than being referred to as a money pit. Replacing brakes at 140,000 miles? Doesn't seem like anything to complain about. Nor does the AC compressor at 160,000 miles. If reverse quit working, it's probably because it had the original transmission fluid in it for 170,000 miles and needed the fluid and filter changed. Like as not, it would work for another 170,000 miles. Instead of referring to the car as a money pit because it needed some overdue maintenance, think instead how much money that car has saved you by keeping you from making car payments!
