1994 Chrysler Intrepid ES review from North America

Overall, the quality of the car has been excellent.

At 50,000 miles the inner tierod bushings had to be replaced.

At 75,000 miles new struts & mounts had to be replaced.

At 75,000 miles began having problems with instrument panel shorting out while driving. Dealer could not find the cause. Decided to do it myself and discovered that on the Intrepid model, water has a tendency to leak under the hood: (driver's side) right where relay box is located, causing corrosion in wires exiting relay box.

Had fuel rail leak, but repaired under recall along with transmission linkage.

Have had no further problems to date. The Intrepid ES is a car that must be serviced when due. Mopar products are highly reliable... if they are properly cared for. I am trying to understand why so many Intrepid owners are unhappy. Perhaps the previous owner dogged the car??

The Intrepid ES will get you there very fast and in comfort.

The correct transmission fluid must be used or slippage will occur. (Do not use Chrysler brand) Use Mopar.

Change the oil regularly and the engine will stay running like a racehorse. The Mopar 3.5 is one of the best high performance engines ever built... but you have to keep it that way by regular maintenance.
