1999 Chrysler LHS 3.5 V6 from North America

Summary:

Amazing car

Faults:

This car has been great and I really like it. It's a dependable vehicle for the money, nothing has really gone wrong.

New transmission at 105,000 miles, everything still in good condition.

I get like 24 city, 30 highway on average, and the 0-60 is quick for such a big, heavy car; 7.7 seconds.

I love this car and would recommend it to anyone.

I run Valvoline synthetic oil and change every 3,000 miles. This is for sure a great, comfortable, and a high performance car.

General Comments:

This car is very reliable and is pretty quick,

Highly recommended... Love it and would buy another one.

1999 Chrysler LHS from North America

Summary:

Comfy, but horrible to rely on

Faults:

Battery went dead twice within 3 months.

Wires came loose in ignition.

Stalled on me 5 times in 2 months!

General Comments:

The car is very very nice when it works. Very comfy when your driving. The heated seats are awesome in the winter. However its not very reliable. You never know when it will stall or not start, and it is very costly to get repaired. I would love it so much more if it actually drove all the time and didn't break down as often.

1999 Chrysler LHS Sedan 4 Door V6 3.6L from North America

Summary:

Most amazing reliable car around

Faults:

A/C went out at about 110,000 miles

Power window in back left door at about 80,000 miles

Can't open right rear door from inside (may have been caused from a break in)

One tire constantly have to pump up since about 100,000 miles (most likely the dealership bent the rim so it leaks)

General Comments:

An awesome car, and has been passed down through three people in the family.

Mainly small items that need to be replaced.

Handling is absolutely amazing and performance also.

The only thing that gets you is the labor costs at the dealership.

Huge trunk for long road trips (taken two across the country)

1999 Chrysler LHS from North America

Summary:

I hope Chrysler can top this experience in the 300

Faults:

After rolling this to 151,000, I've had my share of repairs, but all have been expected. Of those that were a disappointment:

Radiator fan assembly went at 30,000.

Air conditioning system evaporator at 100,000.

Otherwise I've been stunned by how cheap it has been to keep.

General Comments:

I hate to have this car wear out because it has all the attributes I want in a car. It still is.

The interior is quiet and well appointed.

Killer audio system.

Power to spare.

This car is a great business car with class

Faults:

Steering gear @ 140000 miles.

Right front wheeling bearing 145000 miles.

Cooling fans 165000.

Timing belt 196000 miles.

That's it.

General Comments:

This car has been the best car I have ever owned. handles great very quick and very dependable The interior looks brand new and the body has held up wonderfully no rust, my only complaint is that when snow gets in the rims it feels like the tires are out of balance.

1999 Chrysler LHS from North America

Summary:

Like the car not the repair bills

Faults:

Three trips to dealer before A/C was fixed. The car has an electrical problem that has yet to be fixed (interior lights blink on/off from time to time). Several sensors have been replaced. The Windshield Washers are not currently working. New battery cost was $130.

General Comments:

Repairs are very expensive on this vehicle.

1999 Chrysler LHS 3.8 gasoline from North America

Summary:

Great car, little bad I can say about it

Faults:

Drivers power window failed at 80,000 miles.

One blown woofer at 75,000 miles.

Power trunk release quit at 60,000 miles.

General Comments:

I blame our teenager for the speaker being blown. The sound system is awesome for being factory and even I have it blasted when I have the windows down and sunroof open, but she listens to all the rap with the loud bass.

Very roomy and comfortable. You lay back when in the back seat and it feels like the front seats are a mile away.

Trunk is massive (19 cubic foot), we have yet to find a way to fill it.

The 250hp V6 lets you pass in no time flat, but watch out because you will jump from 55 to 85 faster then you realized. Will get to 100 not long after if you keep it pressed, but tends to slow down after that, I never quite got her to 110. I think it's governed.

Handles pretty well for as big as it is. My wife likes soft luxury car steering and I like firm sports car steering and we both think the car is a nice compromise of the two.

We get 24mpg doing 70% highway and 30% city driving.

Even thought it is now 5 years old the lines are very modern and we get compliments from everyone that sees it.

Our particular vehicle is cursed and has been in 4 accidents, 3 major and 1 minor. It has protected the occupants admirably in every instance with nothing, but some bumps and bruises despite being launched airborne at 50mph and later at 70mph.

The plastic nose looks good, but a minor bump that would have gone unnoticed on our Ford Ranger cost almost $500 to fix in the LHS. Can't find a car with a real bumper anymore so I don't hold Chrysler any more at fault then all the rest.

The traction control and front wheel drive keep it sure footed in the bad weather.
