2015 Citroen C1 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Disappointing

Faults:

Had the car 3 hours and the brake pedal seized on a steep hill and collided with another vehicle coming into the junction. The vehicle took over 50 metres to eventually stop. I don't know/think it is a problem with the model, but it was a problem with this particular vehicle we purchased.

General Comments:

Very pleasing to look at and comfortable (for all the time it was driven). Nippy and spacious.

Insurance is relatively cheap, and I think the car is OK on running costs, but cannot elaborate on that as only had it for a few hours.

2015 Citroen C1 1.0 3 cylinder petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Proper roomy, well equipped small car - very good effort Citroen

Faults:

Nothing - a loan car.

General Comments:

Jut had one of these on loan - a new model, circa 5k miles. A lot of people on here use this sort of exposure to slag cars off - me, it's the opposite, I loved this car.

Small, gruff, willing engine, which gets smooth and quiet as you approach the legal limit - whizzes along at 80mph - "or so I was told by someone officer" LOL!! All at an indicated 50 MPG.

Equipment - very good - leccy windows - aircon - DAB radio + connectivity for iPods, memory sticks and the like. Clear dashboard, which was very easy to understand and use, and I.C.E. controls on the steering wheel.

Bit roly poly on the twisties, but hangs on gamely - seat backs lack support when giving it rice thru the bends, but hey ho, it's nicely trimmed. Boot's a bit small and the rear door windows only hinge open, not roll down, so could get a bit sweaty in the back, but there is enough room for a couple of adults.

To sum up it's a car that does exactly what you would think with aplomb. Frugal - seemed very well put together - well equipped - and I understand keenly priced and more keenly discounted by dealers. Lots of good reasons to put it on the shopping list if you are popping out to buy something like this - even the bright orange colour grew on me!!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Being pleased with a loan car is hardly the same as living with it for months or years.

Never claimed it was mate - just commenting on what was a surprisingly good car - yes it could be a nightmare in the long run, that's why I started out by qualifying my statement by saying it was a loan car - and after all, plenty come on here to slag a car off when they get it on loan - for some reason they think that a Daewoo Matiz should somehow be the equal of their BMW M5 that's in for repair LOL - so I just wanted to even things up with a positive comment about a loan car - I never said I was reviewing it after long term ownership.

Second service on the Juke - same garage and I got loaned the same car - the C1 was still as good and still as orange. Still think this is a good effort by Citroen.
