Rather than everyone pulling figures from here there and everywhere, just take a gander at the power to weight ratio of each car if you are really that bothered (bhp per tonne) :
- 306 rallye 145.65
- 306 gti6 139.66
- Xsara VTS 136.95
- Clio 182 (not cup) 169.34
- Civic Type R (EP3) 166.25
- Rover Vi 134.28
- Honda S2000 192.64.
Know the cars limits, it's almost hot hatch quick, and obviously no where near cars like the S2000. Should even be a fair way off the Civic Type R and Clio with a power to weight deficit of 30bhp per tonne.
Finally some one talking sense.
How in the hell would the 5-speed have closer ratios than the 6-speed?!?!?! The whole point of having 6 gears is so you can place them closer together.. if you made the 5 speed with closer ratios than the 6, it would be revving like whipper snipper on the freeway!!
