1991 Dodge Daytona 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Great car for the money; take care of it

Faults:

Bad valve cover.

02 sensor went out.

Front driver's tire went flat one day.

General Comments:

These cars are extremely reliable, but without a manual transmission they seem very gutless.

The comfort is amazing, because the gauge cluster, and almost everything else on the interior is Daytona specific.

My struts in the front are going, and I may need to replace them in a few months.

The rear deck lid struts are good, but it's hard to find good struts for cheap, if at all. Otherwise it's ~$40 to replace one!

Seats are very firm, and I love that. I think they work great for long drives.

I think they should have been rear wheel drive, but even the front-wheel drive is easy to work on on these vehicles because they have a lot of space under the hood.

1991 Dodge Daytona IROC 3.0L from North America

Summary:

Nice performance, super nice looks, awful electrical system

Faults:

Alternator. And the alternator belt.

Front engine motor mounts.

Lifters have always been a problem.

Engine needed to be rebuilt after getting water into the air intake, I was told it was right on the ground, why I don't know?

Auto-locks kept locking, And warning chimes kept chiming.

Power gas lid wouldn't open in the winter. Never have ANY of these problem's when I bought the car at first.

General Comments:

Fast little car with VERY nice looks, full ground effects and wrap around spoiler. Sadly it was AUTO.

Loved this car because it was my second car and looked so much nicer than my Acura.

I do miss her, but the Talon that replaced her isn't without its charm.

1991 Dodge Daytona IROC 3.0L from North America

Summary:

My baby, of course I loved it!

Faults:

At 100,000 miles my engine threw a rod.

Not much else has gone wrong, although this was a major problem, I fixed it and it was worth it to me!

General Comments:

This car was by far my favorite car I have owned to date.

I'm still kicking myself for selling it, but I had to due to moving overseas.

I believe it was truly a rare car. I look around for the IROC versions and have yet to find another one.

I wish it had automatic locks, windows and sun roof, but that's okay.

This car was nice to drive and show off.

I did after-market work to it, because I don't like how Daytonas look when stock from the dealer.

Anyone who owns or has owned a Daytona IROC can e-mail me, I would like to know what they think of the cars, and if the guy who bought it off me in Colorado is reading this... sell it back, please!

1991 Dodge Daytona ES 2.5 turbo II from North America

Summary:

A high performance car at a very cheap price

Faults:

Had to fix the radiator 2 times.

Paint started to loss the gloss.

General Comments:

This is a great and inexpensive car.

With its turbo, you can reach 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds.

The interior is good, but the back seats kind of get crowded.

In the back of the back seats, you can easily fit 4 12"s and probably have a custom box built.
