2011 Dodge Grand Caravan from North America

Summary:

Not just power, American power

Faults:

Here's my story. I only had the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan for only 4 days. It was a rental with 48k miles. I drove it from Tampa Fl. to Dalton Ga. to NYC. The car was perfect, comfortable and easy to handle. It was a smooth ride, and the gas mileage was very good.

General Comments:

The real test for this car (Dodge Grand Caravan) began on the trip from NYC, going back to Tampa Fl. I was starting a new business in Tampa Fl. By luck, I found used custom racks for carpet rolls in NYC. It was 7 heavy duty steel racks plus 40, 13ft. steel poles and a double sided carpet manual jack (approx. weight 4 to 5 thousand pounds of steel).

With the help of a couple friends in NYC, we tucked in the back seats of the Caravan to get more space. We stuffed the steel racks inside the Caravan along with the manual jack. Strapped the 13ft steel poles on top of the Caravan, and I was ready to go.

After 1200 miles and 23 hours of driving on the I95, I made it to Tampa Fl. No problems, no issues not even a dash warning light. That van is a MONSTER!

Will probably start falling apart after 5 years, especially if abused.

Which MUST be why there are tons of these on the road... even a lot of older ones, right? Please. These vans are very dependable. My wife and I just traded a 1998 Grand Caravan that had 230k on it. Not because it was falling apart, but because the kids are gone now and we could. Bought a Dodge Journey, and are just as happy with it.

Summary:

Chrysler, you did it again with these minivans by hitting the jackpot!!

Faults:

Problem free.

General Comments:

This is our second Grand Caravan. We previously had a 2006 model, and felt that it was time to trade it in for the 2011 model. We hit the jackpot with this one!! Everything about it is lovable.

Dodge and the makers of these vehicles did an absolutely tremendous job on these minivans. The interior quality is remarkable! But what really surprised us was the horsepower. Chrysler sure hit the jackpot when fitting these minivans with the new motor. These are super quick now. We can tell the difference when on the interstate. Our 2006 was not as powerful as this one.

Our kids really, really love this vehicle, and so do we!!! Lots of room inside including cargo space. Great for family road trips, great for the parents with kids that are involved in various sports, or just your typical family fun minivan. We definitely would highly recommend this minivan.

I find it hard to place much confidence in these reviews until you have 100,000 miles on a vehicle. I have driven two Grand Caravans each over 250,000 miles. Please, nothing is proven on a vehicle with 5,000 miles. It isn't even broke in yet. Chrysler is apparently not trustworthy and not likely to stand behind their vehicles if past behavior means anything. Someone please prove me wrong.
