All sensors have gone out several times.
The front suspension is completely shot.
The CV axles are bad.
The transmission is stuck in 2nd gear the majority of the time, and when the car does shift into 3rd, it will randomly down shift while driving steadily.
This all happened shortly after the 50,000 mile mark, and it now has 62,000 miles on it.
This car is the absolute WORST investment I have EVER made. I have put more than 5,000 dollars into it since the 50,000 mile mark, and it would take another 2500 dollars to fix the transmission.
As an owner of a '00 Focus, I feel your pain.
I helped a handicapped friend buy a 2001 Neon in 2001. He has put 100,000 miles on it with not one single problem. He's ready to look for another car now and it will have to be very reliable also. Since the Neon is no longer built (and he doesn't like the Caliber), I'm recommending he go back to Ford. His previous Ford (a 4-cylinder 1986 Mustang) went 200,000 miles with no problems.
You went from owning a Honda Civic to a Dodge Neon!!? What on earth possessed you to make such a decision!?
