I have had my car since it was practically new and guess what no problems.
This is a great car. I love it.
I have heard of a lot of people having trouble with the transmissions in their cars. I can tell you I've watched a lot of these same people and they drive like idiots. No transmission will hold up to jack rabbit starts forever. It also helps if you drive slow the first couple of minutes to let not only the engine, but the engine warm up a little before full throttle. This is true not only for this car, but all cars. People don't seem realize they also need to check their transmission fluid every now and then.
I have 1997 Dodge Stratus ES with the 2.5 liter and autostick transmission with 96,000 miles and haven't had any troubles beside general maintenance. I drive close to 100 miles a day, 4 days a week and find the car very reliable! You know a car doesn't run on just gas and oil, it also needs to be maintained.
