I've had my strauts since the day I bought it, and I continusly get about 40 (yes, I wrote Forty) MPG Highway with it.

Maybe that's because I coast a lot, or I don't really speed at all.

Just wanted to comment that I love my 1999 Dodge Stratus. My wife bought it brand new in '99 when we were just going steady, and we are now married 5 years, and the Stratus is doing great. The rear RIGHT power lock stopped working, but I've been procrastinating having it repaired. I do have a little bit of trouble with the rear brake lights, the bulbs work, but every now and again the lights seem to work then suddenly not work, then work again. I did have to have the head Gasket repaired, but Mopar has a 100,000 mile warranty on that. (BIG HELP) I don't want to jinx myself, but I have the same battery that came with the car!! I am not looking forward to changing it though, since it's by the tire and all. My Horn is currently "out of order" and I'm delaying fixing that also, (I'm a cheapskate), so if anyone has any tips on self fixing that, please post here. I liked the Stratus so much that I now have a Dodge Neon as a second car, and so far, so good.

I now the above seems like I'm griping about the problems I've had, but really it's not bad when you think about it, in five years that's all we've needed.

We got our stratus last year and nothing really bad has gone with it. The power door locks do not work except for the driver side. The front cup holders barely hold anything, or I should say fit anything, the back cup holder was broken when we got the car. The wire that goes to the front of the car for the trunk keeps getting disconnected. The rear defroster works, but takes a while. The day we bought the car the a/c worked, but right when we brought it home it stopped working. They said that we had to get a new belt for it, but we figured we would just Waite until next summer so that we will be able to enjoy it! When we went to get the oil changed the person who changed it last had tightened it too tight so we had to, but a whole new oil pan. But other than that the car has been really reliable and we are now thinking about buying a second one.
