2002 Fiat Punto Active Sport review from UK and Ireland

A couple of dash board rattles that were fixed under warranty without question. Also, the CD/radio would occasionally show an error message, but this has also been rectified under warranty being replaced with a new unit.

Cost £7,600 new with metallic paint and three years interest free payments. Great value for a new car and includes three years warranty.

It has the 1.2, 8 valve engine. OK, so it's no racer, but it's nippy enough for round town, and we have done over 12,000 miles in the first year of ownership.

Sculptured seats, silver look central dashboard, smart upholstery and an easy to read, modern display means it is a treat to live with. Everything feels 'solid' for such a small car too.

Very economical, regularly returning over 50mpg with ease. The first service only cost just over £100.00 as well, which was an added bonus.

Lots of headroom and enough legroom in the back for those of a lofty disposition not to feel too cramped. The boot is large enough for a reasonable amount of shopping as well.

The four door model is probably more versatile if the back seats are used regularly, as getting in and out of the back is a bit of a squeeze, and air conditioning would have been nice. At this price though, beggars can't be choosers.

Overall, a pleasing little car with a paint finish to put Citroen to shame if compared to their Saxo range. A pressure washer will not see paint flaking off of this car as it did the Citroen.
