"Poor build quality stilo"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Upper glove-box broken on picking up vehicle.

Rear axle replaced at 60 miles due to fault.

Power steering ecu replaced at 100 miles due to failure.

Buzzing from dash at 70 m.p.h.dash sub-frame replaced at 250 miles.

Car wandered to the left tracking adjusted.

Steering wheel not central this was adjusted.

Rattling from rear of car all trim clips replace, but still rattling.

Passenger side central locking button keeps coming loose still not fixed.

Engine very sluggish when cold on pick up still not sorted.

Various rattles 2800 miles waiting to be fixed I won't hold my breath.

General comments?

Yet again abysmal build quality from fiat.

1.6 engine a bit underpowered and sluggish at low revs, but fine on a long run.

Good equipment levels.

Good price.

Poor fiat dealer service again.

My Punto is exactly the same, and after the garage has had their grubby mitts on it to TRY (Ha Ha) to sort it, the list of problems seems to go from bad to worse.

And they say there's no such thing as a bad car anymore!

It seems you have one of the first batch of cars (=noisy rear axles, passenger airbag failure warning light, various noises from rear hatch...). Things seem to be better now, see www.stilo.org for details.

Things have not improved at all. I have a brand new Stilo, 6 weeks old now. I will shortly post the sad saga of my badly built, poorly inspected at quality control level and so so supported by a fiat dealership nightmare.

You think that is bad. I will write my list of stuff on this car that has gone wrong. Oh and by the way, guess where it is now! In the scrap yard because, that's what that car is.

Airbag failure.

Loose connection.

Bulbs keep going.

Exhaust system is shockingly bad :- 4 back boxes, 6 middle boxes, 3 catalytic converters.

Fan belt keeps breaking.

Tracking on the car keeps going off.

Alternator changed few times.

General electrics on the car is BAD! *Dangerous* *fuses keep going*

Suspension springs break *Dangerous*.

Both track rod end ball has excessive play and keeps coming loose.

Never passes the MOT because of emissions.

Head lamp bulbs keep going, Also seem to be higher than the other.

Gearbox is a shamble to be honest.

Also windscreen washer at the back is rubbish. I might as well get out and wipe it myself.

Antiroll bar becomes loose after few 1000 miles.

Car central locking had to be re-coded 4 times.

Fuel miles to the gallon is appalling.

Immobilizer which don't work.

Brake calipers keep seizing on rear.

Seat belts are too stiff.

Going over speed bumps scrapes the underside of the car.

Plastic covers underneath the car came off. Not fixed properly after knowing it only has 2 fixings in the front of it. How bizarre..

Engine stabilizer randomly broke, which caused damage to the exhaust system.

Sound system crashed because of a fuse.

Inside lights went because of the fuses *Make sure you have a few 100 spare*.

Oh, and one last thing, the locking mechanism comes apart quite easily, thus making you trapped inside the damn thing.

Now for the good points...

The hazard lights work :-)
