I would have to strongly agree with the mechanic! I think what you may be looking for is a station wagon.. subaru has 4 wheel drive!

Agreed! The full-size Bronco was the last of the real 4x4's (along with the old K-5 Blazer), outliving the Dodge Ramcharger by a couple of years. They were great trucks. Sure, the ride was harsh compared to most sedans, but this was before the SUV craze, which popularized the loss of 4x4 capability in the interests of "comfort." The people who would buy an "SUV" have no real business driving a real 4x4 like the old Bronco. It was too much vehicle for you, and probably what you were looking for was a Lexus or Mercedes SUV that would never be taken off road.

My Bronco has been through hell and back several times, and the engine, t-case, and axles remained solid. Although it's gone through one tranny due to my own mistake, you wouldn't believe the things these vehicles can do.

Maybe it's because ya went from a Grand Prix to a Bronco, but by comparison to most in its class they're actually pretty comfortable, stable riding and generally reliable.

I've owned three, and have been extremely happy with each one. The 94 Eddie B. edition I currently have has amazingly comfortable captain chairs, Rides very smoothly on highways (for a truck with that clearance) and even though it's 16 years old, pretty much has only ever needed regular maintenance.

Want to experience instability, poor reliability and discomfort, try an old Wrangler by comparison, tried that... Happy to be back in a Bronco.

I don't know; if you don't own one, you can't really say much to put down the ye' old broncos.

Great seats.

Smooth ride.

Enough horse power with the 351 Windsor with 270k miles on it, and still purrs like a cat; just needs usual maintenance.

The Bronco seriously has a set of massive balls on them.

They are an amazing great truck, and will go in and out of anything you put them in. Absolutely great truck. I'm happy with my 95 XLT.

My girl is in love with my XLT. LOL.
