1995 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer 5.8 Windsor from North America

Summary:

Excellent, just love it. My wife thinks it's hot too

Faults:

Tightened the battery.

Adjusted the doors to close tightly.

Lubricated everything.

I haven't had to replace anything on the vehicle yet.

General Comments:

I recently purchased my Bronco to have a larger vehicle that had the ability to tow. I picked up this Eddie Bauer edition for $2200.00. Not a bad deal.

The vehicle has 267,000 miles on it and everything in the vehicle still works. I mean everything. There are no squeaks or rattles, and the truck rides great.

The motor idles smooth with no misses or skips. It does not burn oil or leak anything. The transmission and 4 wheel drive works great.

I have only owned the vehicle for a few days, but for the amount of mileage on the vehicle, I am very impressed that it had held up so well. Everything is like new in the vehicle except for the two front seats.

There is one spot of rust on the vehicle on the back tailgate, which I will be fixing soon; other than that it is rust free, the original paint is still pretty good even. Very impressed.

1995 Ford Bronco xlt 351 Windsor from North America

Summary:

In a desperate situation, I'd want to be in this truck

Faults:

The catalytic converter melts the passenger side control arm bushing.

At two years old, the cruise control malfunctioned one time in the full throttle position. Ford payed for half of the repair.

The front seats are uncomfortable. They're like sitting on balloons. No side support.

Changing the spark plugs is a major headache.

The idle air control valve will go out. $50 simple repair.

The fibreglass shell will fade.

General Comments:

In general, this is a good truck. I've owned it since new, and it's only left me on the road once, and that was briefly.

The motor and tranny, and drive train in general, have been rock solid. In 4wd, this truck could pull down a house.

I have kept it garaged, and waxed, so the paint still looks very good (it's black).

Gas mileage is bad, but this ain't a little truck.

1995 Ford Bronco XLT 351 from North America

Summary:

Very expensive and unreliable

Faults:

At 10,000 miles the limited slip was whining! The dealership put in some "special" gear lube that was supposed to solve the problem... At 15,000 miles, the rearend was replaced.

The radiator went out at about 36,000 miles.

This truck must have been built to last about 60K miles. I'm glad I sold it before then.

General Comments:

Smooth and quiet for about 10,000 miles. Then it got noisy due to loose stuff. The short wheelbase and high center of gravity gave it a very "busy" and scary ride.

The seats were very uncomfortable. I think Ford was ready to dump this model and replace it.

I am a FORD mechanic. I think you are wrong for saying it was time for Ford to replace Broncos with the horrible 4-door Explorer that I would not trust pulling a bicycle.

I do not believe that your rear differential was whining, especially so soon, considering the 8.8 is famous for strength and durability.

I don't understand how suspension components can be tight and sturdy for 10,000 miles and then just simply get loose.

The short wheelbase is actually a big advantage it can out turn almost any vehicle I can think of. You have to be the first person on the planet to complain that the seats were uncomfortable, it's a truck. If you want comfort get a Cadillac.

1995 Ford Bronco XLT 5.0 V8 from North America

Summary:

Off-road rock climbin' mud hog!!!

Faults:

The Cruise Control went out, it was recalled and ford fixed the problem free of charge.

General Comments:

This Mud Slingin' Monster is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I just change the oil and have it checked out every 6 months for any problems... nothing yet. I love taking this truck out on the trails. It would climb a tree if gravity would allow! I will always own a Bronco, even if gas gets crazy. Rate it 10 out of 10! Lots of power and girth.
