2004 Ford Econoline E350 6.0 Powerstroke from Norway
Summary:
A real beast
Faults:
Nothing during the 2 years I owned this van, just oil changes. The standard weaknesses for this generation of Powerstroke V8 was fixed by the previous owner. He had spent a lot of time and money on things like aftermarket EGR cooler, new turbo and improved injectors, giving +400 horses.
General Comments:
A real beast. Long extended version with 8 seats and still a huge cargo space. Heavy duty suspension and transmission. Medium tune on the engine giving 400-410 horses. 3.3 tons and could still outrun most cars.
Downside was horrible fuel economy. Not possible to get it under 2 litres per 10 km.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Ford Norway has sold a bunch of these as a part of its official offering. These were quite common as commercial vehicles in the 90ies, but Ford Norway also sold some after that.
In addition, several third party companies used to import these, but the last 12-13 years it hasn't been economically viable to do so.
You can also quite easily do this yourself via a specialist in the US. The main issue in later years has been cost.

I'm curious how that van even made it to Norway since Ford never sold these vans outside of the Americas. Here they are VERY cheap vans, popular with delivery services and transporting people. You can beat the living crap put of those vans but you're not really going to get a very smooth ride and the interiors obviously are an afterthought.
