2010 Ford Falcon G6E Turbo 4.0 turbo from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The best car in the world for this price

Faults:

Absolutely nothing has gone wrong with this car.

General Comments:

This car is so quick off the mark, that one has to be careful of one's license.

The climate control is wonderful.

Comfort second to none.

The cabin is on par with German cars, the equivalent of %200 more in price.

I get a big smile on my face every time I drive it.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I agree. I am so impressed with the current Falcon range. Thanks Ford. I was considering a BMW 5 Series, for twice the price... but not now. I will buy a top of range Falcon.

I have a G6E Turbo 50th anniversary model and I love this car. When the turbo is not activated, it's a wonderful comfortable luxury car. When the turbo comes into play, hold on because it's a beast.

What more can one want but a car that can match your mood and do everything bar go off road?

The icing on the cake is that it's a great family car. I have rediscovered my passion for driving and love of cars.

I love these things, especially the FPV's, but I do hope that Ford Australia don't go down the Taurus route when the FG comes to a close in 2015 or so.

If you keep your foot out of it, is the fuel economy not too bad?

I have heard that these are very hard on fuel if you put your foot into them.

I've recently upgraded from an 2004 to a 2011 XR6T, and yep, she loves a drink. The only thing I dislike about the FG, compared to the BA, is the heating control. The rotary dials in the BA are streets ahead of the buttons on the FG. It was really easy to regulate the temperature of the air in the BA. In the FG, one minute it's warm air, the next it's cold. Very annoying.

The FG turbo isn't bad at all on the motorway, but if you do like to put your foot down, it is a thirsty car. Trouble is, putting your foot down is very, very addictive.

2016 update. The car is still a delight to drive. One problem has emerged which of course the service workshop couldn't replicate. The A/C fan sometimes won't work. The car has a rocker button rather than a dial, and no matter how many times I press for more or less fan speed, the fan just won't work. Then, after a few minutes, the fan decides it wants to work. Very annoying when I need to defrost the windscreen! I've got an extended factory warranty, so the next time it fails, I'll take it to the dealer and hopefully they'll either diagnose the fault and fix it, or replace the faulty unit.
