No Automatic for 03/04 cobras

Buying a lot of tires.

I have had the car for a year now and enjoy it more everyday. Almost as fast as a 02/04 Corvette z06 in the 1/4 mile says a lot cause the car costs 15,000 less than the z06.

If you can drive, it is faster than corvettes. And ALL Cobras are manual. why would you want anything else?

YEAH A COBRA COULD BEAT A ZO6 IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE IT, BUT 05-06 MODELS OF A ZO6 WILL DOMINATE ANY COBRA ON THE STREET. THE UP COMING ZO6 WILL PUMP UP TO 505hp.

I for one am glad SVT uses only manual transmissions in their cobras. Its always been that way since 93.

Yes the 06 Z06 will be much faster, but what do you expect when you compare a 30K car to a 70K car.

Don't think the Z06 will be unchallenged for long... There is a Shelby GT500 on the way for 2007 that should be about 500 HP and still be way less money than the Z06. Ford's sites are set on beating the Z06... should be interesting...

Actually a 04 Z06 will take a 04 Cobra in the 0-60, the 1/4 and top speed. The Z06 dominates 60 in 4.0 where the Cobra takes 4.5. The Z06 does the 1/4 in 12.5 and the Cobra 12.6. Also Z06 tops out over 170 mph and the Cobra limits at 155.

My first comment on " a good driver driving an SVT can drive it faster in the quarter than the z06". Theres no way if you put the same driver, a GOOD driver in an SVT and let him do a pass, then put him in a Z06 the SVT times will be faster. ALSO, The 2006 Z06 will smoke a shelby Gt 500 like it's not even there. It runs an 11.7 second 1/4 mile, where as motor trend ran a 2006 GT 500 a 12.7, and car and driver ran a 12.9. A Base model LS2 corvette runs a 12.6. I think the chevy guys got ford this time.

Or you can buy an 03-04 cobra like me... put a pulley on, tune, exhaust, cold air kit... alltogether less than 2000 and smoke any stock pre-06 ZO6 all day long.
