Yeah, I think you're just kinda mad cuz you maybe got ripped off. Like I said in another post, previous owners usually ruin these poor T-birds for the rest of us. I thought I just got ripped off on this car, but really all the things wrong I have with mine are easily fixable, so I got lucky. Sounds like someone drove yours into the ground, sorry mate. =/

I just bought my 1991 thunder bird, and I could not be happier. This car does it all, good off the line, great gas mileage, and a major babe magnet. After one hundred and thirty thousand miles it has never had any major problems. I have only ever had to replace the brakes on mine. This car is the best investment I ever made.

I have a 1991 T-Bird LX with the 5.0 HO V8. It has over 260,000 miles (M) on it. The engine is still strong and still gets around 26mpg on the road at the speed limit(65 to 70mph). It has an oil leak and uses around 1qt/1,000 miles.

Transmission OD clutch went out at 180,000M.

It has had two alternators and one starter.

I think it has about 150,000M on this set of spark plugs.

Distributor was replaced at 95,000M.

Struts replaced at each 100,000M.

Rear shocks replaced at 200,000M.

Never had a wheel alignment.

Front seat leather is going after 19 years and never garaged. Paint is white and still very good.

This the best car I have ever owned, and is still a very good car. I have been looking for one with less than 150,000M on it to buy, as I know this one cannot keep going forever, even if it seems like it will.

I am a proud owner of a 1991 Super Coupe for 14 years now, and I must say this is by far the best car I have ever owned. The only major issues I have had with this vehicle were the head gaskets, ABS pump assembly and clutch. The cost to me was $350 for a remanufactured assembly, about $250 for the head gaskets, and $300 for a clutch. Yes, granted I am able to make repairs myself, so that does save me money.

The vehicle currently has 322,000 miles on the original engine, supercharger, transmission, rear-end, suspension components, (except for the upper ball joints on the front). The vehicle still runs strong, and continues to have good gas mileage. About 25-27 on the highway so I can't complain much. Overall this has been an excellent car.
