1996 Ford Windstar GL review from North America
"Good van if they can fix the problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1) Rear door hatch broke 1 week after purchase.
2) Windshield whistled. Fixed 2 months after purchase.
3) Head gasket at 50,000 miles (2 years old).
4) Brakes failed.
5) Tires wear unevenly.
6) Check engine light has a mind of its own.
7) Replace a rim at 80,000 (3.5 years old) - weld came loose.
8) Replaced another rim at 110,000 (4.5 years old). Weld came loose. Different rim.
General comments?
I like the van. It runs good, drives good and fits 7 teenagers comfortably. We travel all over California and Oregon with a full van load and the kids don't complain. But the nit-picky little problems and dealership are a pain.
