I am an owner of Geely car, I can say that:

Geely cars are the worst ever, their service center are very bad and have the worst technicians ever.

I advise you all not to buy this car, even it is cheap.

I'm an owner of Geely 2006. It's a good car, it's never let me down, as a car... its servicing is available and easy to contact, to consult and to receive home service... Don't believe the gossip... challenge yourself... it's one of the top ten in China... China is one of the top ten in the world...

2005 Geely Haoqing JL6360B1XH(T) 1.3 from China

Summary:

Affordable and reliable transport for the People's Republic

Faults:

I had to have one of the headlight units replaced not long after delivery, condensation was getting trapped inside. This was repaired without charge.

Otherwise the car has been very good.

The 1.3 litre engine is not very powerful, it will not reach 60 before 15 seconds.

General Comments:

I like my car very much. This is the first motor car I have owned. I have had two motor scooters before this, but have finally managed to save for a car.

Although it is far from what is driven in many western countries, my car is a very desirable object in rural China. Although the engine is very slow, it has proved strong so far and has never let me down.

The cars interior is made from very cheap materials and is not very spacious, but is more than enough for my wife and I. Mine is the basic JL6360B1XH (T) model, but still has features like electric windows.

This car is MUCH cheaper than the foreign cars in China like Toyota and Honda. I paid about $4000US brand new.

My car does not have power steering, airbags or ABS, so does not always feel very safe on the icy roads, some are unpaved. The car also manages to start even when very cold (-20), although it may take two or three times.

I am quite pleased with my Geely overall, I hope the company continues to grow so that westerners might experience it one day.

I'm curious as to why you paid for the car in US dollars.

I'm glad you like your new Automobile. We have heard very little about Geely in North America (Canada), but we know they are coming on strong and will soon be introduced. My main point is that your car suits your needs, and it makes you happy. Its not fancy, but you don't need it to be. If we North Americans thought the same way, we would be a much happier race. We are very fortunate to have a good variety of cars here, but I think the more competition we have, the better. Canadians are happy to see the People's Republic of China is developing into a strong and prosperous nation. Good continued luck with the Geely.

To first respondent... He said he paid around 4000$. It's called a rough conversion. It's like saying I paid around $20 000 USD, even though I live in Canada and it would cost closer to $22 000 CDN.
