"Junk toy car. No power"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Wouldn't go over 45 mph.

No power!!!

Timing belt rubbed into something.

General comments?

Too small. Legs cramped all up. Felt naked on the highway because of short front. Like I had no protection at all.

I knew if I got hit I was a goner. Car drove OK for 2 days then for no reason the engine light would pop on and had no power. Wouldn't go over 45 mph. Embarrassing. Slow taking off. No power. Paid a fortune trying to fix it to no avail. Sold it after a month. I'll never buy another Metro.

The best car in the world because it's easy for doing all kinds of tricks, the hand brake is perfect and the car turns real good.

I got it up to 95 mph. Has a very strong engine, and it's the perfect car to have.

I think the biggest problem I see is your car was an automatic. Automatics are not geared well and I would never suggest buying one, but a stick car is the hot ticket.

I love my little 1991 GEO METRO, I have owned her since 1994 and she has been a great little car. She has 145k miles on her and she is on her second engine. I replaced the engine on my own and it was easy to do. I got my engine for less than 300.00 dollars. Anyone looking for some help on there GEO please don't hesitate to email me at djwardog69@aol.com. I would be happy to help. Long live the GEO.

The Geo Metro. Possibly the world's finest car. I got mine after a dumb friend killed the poor beast on the side of the road. She said her dad told her to add oil every time she got gas, I think he meant check the oil. Anyway, I hauled it home, and when I pulled out the dipstick, oil came gushing out. That would explain the oil in the exhaust - the oil level was above the rings and it was spewing oil from the PCV into the carb. My mechanic said sell it, it won't get 500 miles. I added some "Smoke-B-Gone," changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and since then I've put 30,000 miles on it in two years. Over New Year's I put 2,700 on in five days, went 75 to 80 the whole way. There's nothing you can't fix on these things, and so far I haven't been able to destroy it either. I've beat an S-10 off-roading a beanfield, a jeep on the open road, and I can lock up the handbrake and pull 180 degrees into the parking space of my choice. Long Live the Car for the Earth!

1991 Geo Metro LSI Convertible

I love this little car! I have owned it since it rolled off the ship. Those three little cylinders have carried me many places. At 228,000 miles it is still going strong on the original engine. I didn't get my second set of tires until I had over 100,000 miles on the little guy! I have replaced the original rag top just recently(2006), new clutch last year, new brakes, new wind shield wipers, and I'm on my third set of mats. That's about it. This car is a little tank on wheels, everybody thinks it's cute, and when I tell them it gets 50+ miles to the gallon, they really think it's cute. No air conditioner, but I'm used to that. Still have the original paint too--red! It's a keeper.

I don't believe you beat anything with a Metro. My friend had one, and I raced against him with a trick bike, and beat him on a 1/4 mile by 8 car lengths. Then I raced against him with my 1996 Dodge Intrepid 3.3, and when I got to the end he wasn't even half way there yet. Uf you wants a fast cheap priced car, get a Dodge Intrepid. And when you buy an Intrepid, people won't ask you where the rest of your car is like a Metro.
