Yeah, I've had very few problems with my 1997 SE. I think by following the Honda service you will be safe. The dealership is more than helpful as long as you keep your cool. No one likes a arrogant customer! Replaced CD Player after 160,000 miles. I have 181,000 miles on it now! The only problems I had were when it was under warranty and they were minor. I'm very satisfied.

I've had almost no problems with my '97 LX sedan: driver's side window didn't close right (got it fixed for about $20.), the airbag light has been on since the day I owned it, the trunk leaked when ever it rained (this was due to a previous accident in which the rear bumper was replaced, but not put on properly it cost about $100. to fix), power don't work very well and that's about it.

My car has given me tons of problems... especially with the transmission... maybe its just the luck of the draw...

If you expect a used car to be perfect, then you are wrong. Luck of the draw with a used car only means I did not get one that was stolen or was abused. You did not get a lemon with a bad transmission because your car is not new. You got a car not taken care of, and it is not Honda's fault.

All my friends who own Accords (regardless of year) have experienced similar serious problems. It appears this is one car to avoid.

I have 5 Accords ranging from 1994-1999, and none of these problems have surfaced. The mileage on our cars are from 110,000-260,000 miles. I think the last commenter is blowing it out of proportion.

My 97 Ex has 248564 miles on it, I bought it new in 97, and never had any major problems with it.

It seems to me that the comments are from those who do not know how to take care of a car, or have bought an abused one.

Anyway, I love my Accord and I intend to keep it.

I <3 my Honda!!! My last Accord was a 1991, and my Accord now is a 1997...it is by far one of the most AMAZING cars I have owned... some of these people obviously don't know how to take care of cars... and this is coming from a 19 year old girl, but maybe that's because I know how to build a car...

Yes, he is right, the SE did not come available with a V6, get your facts straight. I own a 96 Accord V6 with 200k, with no problems at all, besides warped front rotors. The body is virtually flawless with no rust. That is pretty impressive for a 15 year old vehicle.
