1993 Honda Civic from North America

Summary:

Better to shop elsewhere

Faults:

Windshield and all windows constantly fog up, especially in wet weather. I have to keep the defroster and the air conditioner on at all times to minimize my problem. At times, this doesn't even help! I know three other people with Honda Civics and all of them have this same problem, so I know it's not just me.

General Comments:

I would never in a million years buy any other car made by Honda.

I have owned a 93 Honda Civic EX for about a year and I have not had any problems with my car in any way. The comment you made about the fogging, I feel that it is unreasonable to say that you would not buy another car that is made by Honda. I have made many modifications to my car in order to make it faster and I have not had any problems thus far. I like Hondas and I feel they are good cars for the amount of money they cost.

1993 Honda Civic EX 1.6 from North America

Faults:

Zero, zilch, nada, zippo, nothing!

General Comments:

My ONLY beef with this car is that there's no alarm or other warning to tell me I've left my keys in the ignition (which I've done more than a couple of times).

I didn't buy my 1992 VTi before I read your review, but I totally agree with you. Only thing is, I want more power now!

CRX VTi 1993, love the electric roof. My comment, never under estimate the power of a Honda.

UK car, purchased with 56k on the clock, look forward to putting another 100k on it.

I too have a 1993 Civic VTI saloon. It's very quick, but for some reason not as quick as my mates which is standard like mine. Any ideas why? I've had it 2 months now.

I have had my Honda Civic VTI for about a year now and I am very impressed the only real problems I have had is with squeaky brakes. Extremely underestimated car I have put a new exhaust, wheels (16 inch) and air filter in and I can do all sorts of cars such as golf GTI's, RS2000 and 2L BMW's!! Very very good car.

Yes the vti kills the golf, I had no problems beating them with filter and exhaust as mod.

Clio V6 is not a turbo.

I've gotta b16a2 Civic hatch, and I'm impressed. Gotta full stainless and cold air feed filter, Mugen chipped ecu revs to 9500rpm and fully adjustables 17s and she's amazing. I've kept up with 200SXs running 300hp! Unbelievable I know, only to 100mph, but still very good and reliable.

13th Nov 2008, 04:55

Except the Civic is faster due to an extra 30hp or so.

19th Nov 2008, 11:41

They are about the same power, both around 150 bhp, except the golf has lots more torque from its 2.0 engine. Only the japanese domestic civics are 160 bhp, and the GTI 16v is not 130 bhp, its 150.

19th Nov 2008, 13:36

JDM 1.6 SiR civics produce 169bhp, uk models produce 160bhp.

21st Nov 2008, 11:25

The new type R is not faster than the old one, it's heavier with 1 more bhp at 198. 0-60 is definitely not 6.3.
