1989 Honda Integra XSi review from Australia and New Zealand
"An absolute rocket"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Leak in passenger footwell, very common in this car. Fixed with silicone iver the rubber grommets.
Water in the footwell caused heater fan to seize, and has damaged the A/C unit and computor so new fan only works on high speed.
General comments?
This car is unreal. A 1.6L NA engined car putting out 160hp. Also weighs just over a tonne. It is unbelivably fast.
Close ratio gearbox allows for very fast acceleration at some expense of top speed.
Hondas VTEC technology is fantastic, this car goes hard up until 4800rpm and then VTEC kicks in and the thing accelerates even harder until the 9000rpm redline.
Interior very hardwearing and functional, but looks great at the same time.
The factory bucket seats become a little uncomftable on long drives in the lower back.
Everything is electric and its fantastic.
This car is superb to drive, it is a really underrated sports car, but definatly not for the timid.
