2003 HSV Clubsport VY Series 2 5.7 V8 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

I was excited, but now disappointed

Faults:

Oil leak from oil pressure switch on delivery.

Bad vibration @ 110 kilometers on delivery.

Rough idle after 30 seconds on delivery.

Condensation in driving lights on delivery.

Clutch & pressure replaced & 4000 kilometers.

Gear box replaced @ 7000 kilometers.

General Comments:

A great looking car with great performance.

However, spoiler vent grills are not adequately fixed to the spoiler & dislodge far too easily.

Fuel & tyre usage reasonably good for the size of the car.

I was really disappointed with the repairs need to this car so far. The dealerships are not forthcoming with any information about these problems.

We are still having problems with the car idling & we have had someone else rectify the vibration problem.

It's showing signs of being a thrashed car that hasn't been fixed properly. I bet you got it from a one of those dodge independent car yards. If it wasn't running good when you picked it up, I would have told them to stick it up their ass. With stuff falling off it, you just got a bad one.

I have owned an HSV VY R8 since 2007 (from 1 owner / 50km) and have had no end of problems with it.

I constantly get the check engine warning come up on the dash display, and have had it checked at the local dealership about 4 times each time with no result. Apparently the warning isn't specific about what it's warning you about.

I've had both front rotors replaced, 2 alternators, two sets of shocks and the boot leaks like a sieve every time it rains hard. I've also had both air flow sensors replaced (twice!) and it's only done 115k. The factory CD changer ate my disks (they jammed inside) and the electric aeriel failed.

I doubt if I'll bother with a 6th Holden.
