Hyundai pays for the repairs, while you pay for the car.

I suppose people have learned nothing from the EXCEL Fiasco, and neither has Hyundai (Hope you understand nothing is drivable and inexpensive)...get it?

I have had mine for 82,000 miles with absolutely no problems. I also know many other owners of the same vehicle who have had no problems. I believe this to be a situation like many others, there are many good ones, and a few bad ones. I am glad to have not had your bad luck.

I've had my 1999 Accent GL for almost 5 years now with 130,000km on it and I've never had any problems with it. It's been a great starter car for me. Cheap, reliable and great on gas.

I have a 99 Accent I bought new, It has been the best car I have ever owned. I did all the routine stuff and it has been great.

The car now has 101k I had to replace the alternator at 99 but that is it.

At 101k I have noticed something not right with the tranny and am having that checked, runs fine in the city, but out on the highway around 50 it revs like it is not going into overdrive.

All in all it has been a great car and has been very reliable. It really has been the best car I have ever owned, whether all Accents are this good I do not know, but I know mine has been great.

I hope the tranny is something minor, I sure would like to keep the car, but with over 100k on it sure do not want to be spending a fortune with high miles.

I bought mine used. While not my first choice, I am having transmission issues, not sure what is going on, but it seems like it goes into neutral while driving.

I have 265,000 miles on my 99 Accent, and other than normal maintenance, I have never had any problems. As far as dependability, it's the best car I have ever owned.
