I am in London, England. I purchased 6 Hyundai Galloper 11 from Gudka Auto Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya when the company went into liquidation in 2000. I imported them to London and ever since I have had problems getting them approved for use in United Kingdom.

The problem is to get letter of conformity as the company I bought has gone into liquidation and Hyundai, Kenya says that you did not buy from us and Hyundai, London says we have never imported Gallopers. Please advise me how I can solve this problem.

The other problem is to acquire Right Hand drive head lights to get the vehicle approved.

You assistance in solving these two problems will be highly appreciated.

My email address is nash_trio@hotmail.com.

I live in Greece we have a number of Hyundai Gallopers here it is a great car it does not break down and it is very good at off road. Many Greek like me we use it to tow boats this car can tow up to 3.000 kilos of trailer. Spare parts is not a problem you can use Mitsubishi Pajero spare parts for everything.

Dear Friends

Nice comments on the Galloper. Some say its cheap, but in Greece you need to pay 15.000 euro for a model of 1999!I don't think this is cheap, is it?

Never mind that, does anybody knows the consumption of the 3litre petrol? mpg?

Regards from Greece

Harris.

The problem with the power windows switches is a simple problem that it is easy to fix. You just need to remove the switch and clean the contacts inside the switch. Make sure the ignition switch is off. You can remove the switches without removing the door panel, just by pulling the switch up from it's place.

I had this problem in all the doors of my 1998 LWB 2.5L TDI Galloper.

I live in Costa Rica and bought a used 1999 Galloper II V6 when I moved here in 2005. This car is a gem! I read one comment on-line here from a person who lives here who said the electric windows were a problem. The problem with the electric windows (for me) is due to the extremely fine, abundant dust thrown off our unpaved dirt roads by wind or traffic. All I've needed to do is clean the contacts and I've been good to go.

We couldn't be happier with the car. It has proved to be a real work horse on and off the road.

I live in Costa Rica, bought a 1995 Galloper turbo diesel. I spent about $2000, replacing, belts, brakes, both fuel pumps, engine heaters and my back door would not open. Now no more problems, It is a good car for Costa Rica roads. I an carry 5 people and bags with no problem. I think it gets about 18mpg.

I live in Costa Rica, in the Guanacaste region to be exact, which is dry, dusty, and the roads around my house are pretty bad.

I have a 1999 Galloper 2 door, and love it. The only issues I have, is the window switches get "dulled" by the dust and have to be cleaned periodically.

Also, a medium pressure "thump" on the handle next to the switch seems to work too. Belts squeal a little, but again I think it's because of the dust.

The only real issue I have, is that the passenger window keeps falling off the track. I have taken the door cover off, and reseat the window on the little, movable slide, but it continues to fall off periodically. In fact, the "slide" seems to fall over, releasing the window off the track. Has anyone else had that problem? If so, what's the fix??? Thanks.

I'm based in UAE and have a 1999 Galloper II 3.0 V6. The car is an excellent workhorse. I only use it to tow a trailer with a Quadbike and dirtbike. It works well and tows easily in softish sand. Also I have taken it into mountains in Oman. It costs peanuts to run and has been extremely reliable. We've had many family & friends trips into the desert and mountains and it has never let me down.

My friend asked help from me to get him datasheet of the power windows switch IC (Integrated Circuit) because his Galloper isn't working well on closing and opening of windows.

He checked and cleaned the switch contacts already, and still it doesn't work. He is working in Jubail Saudi Arabia.

Anybody could give the datasheet of its power windows driver IC marked "Deco 10A 9829"?

Thank you in advance.

I am living in Oman in the Middle East, and I just bought a used 98 Galloper. I'm looking for a few little spare parts, but my mechanic and I are having trouble finding spare parts for it. Does anyone know where I could find parts for it either from the Pajero or the Galloper in the Middle East?

Thank you.

I live in Oman and drive a 97 Galloper with the 3L V6. The automatic transmission on the Galloper is having problems. Overdrive doesn't engage, and there is a big thud between 1st/2nd and 2nd/3rd. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same transmission problems. As well, is the auto tranny the same on the 1st/2nd generation Pajeros? If so, can it be used on a Galloper?

I have a Hyundai Grace H100. I replaced it with a D4BB engine, which happened to be an engine from a Galloper. Very satisfied with the engine. But my van needs a good compressor, as here in Philippines I am not satisfied with aircon of the H100. Just wonder how the compressor of Galloper compares to the H100, as I am planning to buy one?

My mechanic just picked up a Pajero transmission and put it into my '98 Galloper. Apparently, the bell housing matches up. It got rid of the thumping between gears, but I didn't get overdrive back.

Is yours gas or diesel?

Hi guys,

I have a 7 seat Galloper model 1998 with the 2.5 TDI engine, automatic transmission. This is an amazing car and I like it a lot, but the Galloper is just a car like all other cars, and it needs attention and a mechanic sometimes.

My Galloper had a sudden failure of the overdrive; the transmission stopped shifting from 3rd gear up to 4th! Everything else was working fine, just not overdrive. 4th gear is also called overdrive. I fixed mine very easily and very quick, so if someone has the same problem, contact me via email so I can give you instructions on how to fix it easily.
