2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.4 from North America

Summary:

Nice car, poor accessories availability

Faults:

Don't buy a Hyundai Santa Fe if you plan on carrying anything on the roof, such as a surf board or luggage, or any other large item, as there are no roof cross rails available from Hyundai. It has been over 6 months since the Santa Fe was released, and yet no answer on the cross rails. The Santa Fe brochure shows a picture of a Santa Fe with the cross rails installed and carrying a surf board, but none are available, and there's no reason why.

General Comments:

I like my Santa Fe, and if I could get the roof rails that I already paid for, I would give it a high rating, but as it is, it is useless to me, as it does not do what I bought it for, which is to transport my toys (surf boards, bicycles etc) to where I need to go. If I had known that the rails would not be available, I would not have bought this car.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

If roof rails were such an important feature to have, should this have been confirmed before the purchase of the vehicle?

Kia design is based on their new Audi executive.

It was confirmed by the dealer who was angry that I didn’t get any options; then when my car came he said sorry only turbo models have roof rails; will never buy Hyundai again.

Don't know a lot about a Santa Fe. But I assume you can go get the cross rails from another Santa Fe. They made that model from 2013-2017. Maybe at a savage yard or over eBay. What I remember from many of these car manufacturers is it has something to do with sunroofs on those SUVs. Not sure why this would be a problem with those panoramic sunroofs for regular sunroofs. And the Internet is filled with stories about owners moving around parts from one vehicle to another vehicle to suit your needs.

There are numerous third-party rail options available. I know specifically that Thule have compatible units.

I have a 2013 Santa Fe and have purchased roof rails from Yakima (Pro Rack) that work fine.
