2002 Hyundai Trajet Reviews

Front struts on both sides have been replaced twice already.

Gearbox has been taken down and rebuilt twice (under warranty) and it is still not working properly.. it crunches into either 3rd or 4th gear.

Also have major problems with fuel system (diesel) / the car will not start and will occasionally stop dead in the road with no warning lights on dash.

The Hyundai Trajet is an OK car as long as it is still within the 5 year warranty, after that it is a liability.

Front interior/ reading lamp not working properly, it's probably broken by the previous owner.

"T" pipe for water heater broken at 115.000 km, fortunately I don't need that since we have no snow in Indonesia.

Power steering seal and front shock absorber needed to be changed at 98.000 km, after I just spent my money for installing car multimedia entertainment, rear parking sensor and of course regular gasoline.

This is very good family car sold world wide with a very... very... reasonable price when I bought it, compare to its rival, which most Indonesians take a fancy to.

Gasoline consumption is fair as you look for 2 litre engine power, as its big engine is suitable and made for long distance cruising. Hope there will be new invention or technology as 2.0 litre engines run with 1 litre consumption for 15 km, then I might throw this beautiful minivan away! My Trajet uses 2002 engine technology without CVVT, VVT-i, or VTEC technology, but the fuel consumption is much better than its new "rival" Kijang Innova (year 2006), which using latest VVT-i technology; during trip to Bandung from Jakarta in highway, the fuel consumption reached 12,7 km/litre. The city movement spent 7,8 km/litre. That's why I still love this car. I'm just wondering if I can buy New Trajet 2008 with CVVT technology.

What spacious room I have for my family for traveling with 'real" comfort. The ride and handling are good and firm, compared to my previous MPV (Toyota Kijang) before I changed to a Hyundai Elantra.

Slightly under powered when climbing a steep hill, but still does a reasonable speed.

My family are happy with the complete features inside this car, as other families expect for a minivan.

I just wondering if I can should a new Hyundai Trajet CVVT or Hyundai Entourage for next.

Air conditioner, but was fixed under new car warranty.

Nothing else; dealer looked after me really good, and lent me another car for 3 days.

This car has been great; plenty of room, but it does tend to use a lot of petrol though.

We had the car for around 2 years; it was the 2.7 GLS World Cup version petrol.

I have a wife and 4 kids, and we just loved this car.

We only sold it because we no longer need 7 seats anymore.

But resale is no good; I don't know why.

No fault found except that the supplied MF battery need to be replaced just after one year warranty.

Very good for family.

Easy to handle and ride is comfort.

Consumption for me is average like other 2.0 liter car.

Piece of wing mirror trim fell off; was replaced under warranty with no complaint by dealer.

Ten months of ownership, and absolutely no problems as yet! Very pleased with the car and the friendly local dealer.

A lot of car for the money, with masses of features as standard (air-con, CD player, ABS, alloys). Looks nice, not too van-like.

It swallows up three young children, plus school-friends, luggage, pushchairs etc. with no problems, and seats are easy to fold/remove.

Not the most cracking performance (it struggles on hills and wallows about a bit on corners too), but then you don't buy a 7-seater, fill it with children and expect to drive like Michael Schumacher. However, it's a great motorway cruiser, quiet and comfortable at speed.
