1992 Isuzu Rodeo XS review from North America
"I'll hang onto to this sweet rodeo until the wheels fall off!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
About a year after I bought the SUV a tiny spring in the drivers side door broke and I could only open the door from the outside. Isuzu dealership wanted to sell me the whole door mechanism for $85.00, however, I bought a similar spring from Ace Hardware for 50 cents and the door latch works fine now. Also around the same time a spring broke on the the rear brakes (passenger side) I replaced it with a spring kit from a local parts store. $20.00 Never any problems with springs again. 2 years later I had to have the master cylinder replaced $100.00 and now 4 years later I just had to have the rear bearings and seals replaced $400.00. $520.00 for a 12 year old vehicle is excellent.
General comments?
The very best vehicle I've ever had. I've owned a 1985 Toyota Celica when it was 8-11 years old and spent a fortune on repairs. A 1987 Mercury Cougar...junk, a 1991 Ford Ranger, good little truck, but nothing beats my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo. I wanted to buy a newer Rodeo recently, but the reviews were horrible,
