2004 Jeep Cherokee CRD Renegade review from Zimbabwe
"I really love using this car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
All of the following were resolved by the dealer under warranty without reservation:
Main computer died at 5000? km and was replaced; Passenger front seat leather stitching came undone at 18000km and cover was replaced; three or four other minor issues not worth mentioning which were also resolved at dealer's cost without any problems.
General comments?
Nice looking car.
Solidly built.
Very quick for a diesel - after all it does produce 119kW and 400Nm and all this from a 2.8 litre 4 cylinder diesel!
I expected a worse gear change and was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it is.
Comfortable ride, even though slightly hard (remember it is basically a truck!)
Fantastic with loads, but uses a bit more than usual amounts of fuel.
Slightly heavier than the EPA-rated 22-27 mpg; in town I use between 10 and 11.5 litres per 100km, and out of town I use between 9 and 11 litres per 100km, but the 11 was with many passengers and a large very loaded trailer cruising at 110km/hr.
