1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande 2.5L from North America

Summary:

Jeep Wrangler. Drive one!

Faults:

The catalytic converter and the muffler needed to be replaced at 105000 miles Vacuum switch went out at 102000. Other than that just normal wear and tear. Things like hinges rusting a little. The driver and passenger mirrors have had some paint flaking.

General Comments:

The good thing about the hinges and mirror problems are that it is so easy to just take them off and repair and paint them! I have had this thing off road so many times down in Wellsville, Ohio. I have done things with this Jeep that other sport utilities or pickup trucks for that matter cannot handle without some minor damage. It is one fine offroad machine that I also use as a daily driver. I love it!!

1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ from North America

Summary:

High resale value convertible

Faults:

I haven't had to worry about much accept the doors since I got the jeep. The driver side door war having some problems opening at the dealership, I mentioned this to the salesmen and he had it fixed. About 2 months later I started having problems again. I then had it fixed again, and soon it started acting up again. In about the seventh month of having it I fixed the door myself and it has worked great ever since!

General Comments:

All in all a great reliable vehicle with almost no problems.

It is a very cheap vehicle to drive and the resale value is very high.

The jeep is like a tank, you can throw everything you have at it and it will beg for more. Great power in the lower gears makes it unstoppable when 4x4ing.

I love this vehicle and I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

Also it's a convertible!

1995 Jeep Wrangler yj with rio grande package 2.5L 4 cylinder from North America

Summary:

Jeep Wranglers are a great unique 4 wheel drive vehicle with a high resale value

Faults:

The Jeep has been a real road warrior. I have only just recently had to do a transmission and clutch in it. The transmission rebuild and clutch replacement was done at 130,000 miles.

General Comments:

The wrangler is a little rough. They definitely are not a family car. It is a very bumpy ride on the road. They are great with the 4 wheel drive in snow and ice though. If other cars are doing 45 mph. in snow you can do a normal 65 mph. in it. The YJ Wrangler is also great in the summer just take the top off and cruise in convertible style. The 4 or 6 cylinder engines are not fast, they are not meant for that. You buy these Jeeps because they have the best four wheel drive in the industry.

1995 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande package 2.5L 150 AMC from North America

Summary:

Fun in the sun.

Faults:

The only thing that I had to fix when getting this Jeep Wrangler was the low pressure switch on the a/c. I had to refill the manual transmission fluid with gear oil because the previous owner put automatic tranny fluid in it... but it did no damage... it's one tough puppy!

General Comments:

I absolutely love this Jeep Wrangler... I own 2 other Jeeps CJ-7s, but this Wrangler is by far the best ride a Jeep can produce. It's a little bumpy when you hit some pot holes, but on the highway it's not so bad. The small 4 cylinder engine is one tough hunk of iron because I still can take this thing up to 70 easy and it's got 117,000 miles on it. The a/c works great and is always a plus when buying a Jeep. The 31X10.50 tires makes the Jeep look tough and the ride a little higher, but you have to shift a tad earlier than if you had smaller tires due to the ratio differences. Parts are easy to find... in fact you can order on line or through the Jeep catalogs... and there are a ton of catalogs dedicated to Jeeps only. The interior is very nice... I like the leather seats and roomy console. You can install any radio very easily since there is nothing in the way or no dash to pull out to install. I have a CD player in mine with a 6 disk changer and it hardly skips a beat even with a few bumps in the road. The overhead speaker bar sounds great. The top can be hand stitched if the seams begin to separate and replacement tops are a phone call away. I look forward to driving this Jeep daily during my 100 miles commute (round trip) from Lampasas to Austin, TX and I get about 19 MPG on the highway, but I installed a cold air ram induction hose to the air box which accounts for better gas mileage and performance. This is my daily driver and I prefer to drive it over my Chevy Suburban.
