2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara review from North America
"Off road not for city streets or expressway commutes"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rotated the tires and created serious road shake. Had to have the tires balanced and front end aligned. The dealer said this is common for this vehicle. This was at 15000 miles. At 24000 miles the air cleaner was clogged and the car would not start. There is a foam pad at the bottom of the filter soaked in oil that seems to really get clogged. With the rag top my jeep was broken into within 2 weeks of owning it.
General comments?
There is a lot of shake from side to side just going over decent road. There is a lot of road and wind noise. It is not a commuter car or baby buggy. The only time it has been off road was to pull my neighbor's Ford F150 from down in a grassy valley. The Jeep pulled with easy on wet/muddy terrain and didn't even spin a tire. That's what this vehicle is for. The vehicle depreciates quickly - new was $25k and 2 years later only $16k.
