1999 Kia Sephia LX 1.8 from North America

Summary:

KIA's are starter cars and only starter cars

Faults:

To start, brakes were faulty within the first couple of months. Latches for compartments broke quite easily with virtually no pressure.

General Comments:

This has been a good car for my wife. She uses this vehicle to cart the children around as well as run here home business. Lately it has been acting up, but nothing expensive.

1999 Kia Sephia from North America

Summary:

Evil comes in many forms

Faults:

Immediately the check engine light came on for no reason.

Secondly, the O/D light came on for no reason. It would come on or go off... or blink on and off.

Car stalls 90% of the time I tried to start it. If it's cold outside it may not start at all.

Now, sometimes it'll start sometimes it won't.

Two days after I had it fixed and got it running it refused to start at a gas station and left me stranded.

There is an electrical short and the radio stations will not come in clearly. Actually, sometimes the radio will come on... sometimes it won't.

Tire cover mat caves in and refuses to cover the bottom of the trunk.

The inside latch to unlock the hood sometimes works... sometimes doesn't.

The lock for the trunk sometimes works... sometimes doesn't.

It has left me and my passenger stranded twice.

At 39000 miles I had to replace/pay for:

A.Battery.

B.Starter.

C.Towing Costs.

The mechanic still does NOT know what's wrong with the car.

It still won't start.

Now I may still have to buy an:

D. Ignition Switch.

The windshield wiper fluid squirts over the hood and never touches the windshield.

The dealership wants $100 just to look at it.

General Comments:

I believe this works-when-it-wants-to car has a money-eating, leave you stranded, migraine causing demon.

It is evil.

When I first bought this car it was a 1999 that only had 37000 miles on it and one previous owner. I bought it for only $3000. I thought that deal was too good to be true. It was.

I am only glad that I do not have a car note to pay on this go-cart from Hell.

As soon as I can get it to start I'm going to start looking for a buyer, or a young priest and an old priest, whichever comes along first.

Please, please, please do not buy, ride in or look at this car.

Summary:

Think about it

Faults:

I had this car for a very short period of time. But before I purchased this vehicle it had a new transmission at 35000 miles, new rotors, a new shift (even though it's an automatic) and a new muffler, windshield wiper fluid pump. the fact that it needed all these things so soon says a lot about the car. It was extremely cheap and the only way to get something so cheap is to decrease the quality. Not saying that it's a bad car-it has real good acceleration, good gas mileage. It dents like a tin can.

1999 Kia Sephia LS 1.8 from North America

Summary:

I have experienced no problems with this car and feel that it is worth its price

Faults:

So far I have owned the car for only 5 months.

I have no problems with the car other than broken parts that I've done myself.

I tried to take the door off while replacing the speakers and cracked the door because the window handle was in the way and I didn't have the proper tool to take it off.

General Comments:

For having this car for only 5 months, I do not have any problems, as of yet.

The gas mileage on this car is not the best, but is not bad. I would have to say that it is average.

I have replaced all of the sound in this car to make it much better.

The car is very comfortable and drives smoothly.
