2015 Kia Sorento LX AWD 2.4 GDI from North America

Summary:

Great! A wonderful vehicle

Faults:

Nothing.

General Comments:

Looked for months for a used Rav4 or Highlander. When we came across this Kia, we were very impressed.

Price was very good and actually competitive with used Toyotas, and this was new!

The features in a base model were impressive:

Fog lights, Bluetooth, heated seats, wood grain, air, cruise, tilt, 4 wheel disc brakes, traction lok, and a 5 year, 100k warranty.

Gas mileage has been up to 40 MPG with the 4 cylinder and AWD. It averaged well into the 30s on my first trip when brand new.

Smooth, quiet ride.

Lots of nice features and cubby holes.

The 2.4 puts out over 190 HP. Not not as fast as a V6, but it has plenty of power. I have a heavy foot and find it to be more than adequate.

For a diehard Toyota guy and a non-lover of SUVs in general, I really am pleased with this purchase.

I also like the styling; you can definitely pick up on the euro styling cues.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Follow up by the original poster.

We've had it for 18 months now and have about 30,000 klm on it.

Still very pleased with it. Not one issue or problem with it.

Part way through our second Winnipeg winter with it and it's great. Love this vehicle, very pleased with Kia!

Same reviewer. Owned now for nearly 3 years and 54000 klm. Not one problem or issue. Had it on the interstate at 80 plus mph, it will do it, but it seems a little short on power for that kind of driving. Overall still very satisfied. Would buy a Kia again.

Owner Update -- Original Reviewer.

Now owned the vehicle for coming up 5 years. Mileage is now 77,000 klm. Not one single issue with the vehicle. Not one repair, not one problem. What can I say, it was obviously a good choice.

Thanks for keeping us updated! We just bought a 2014 Sorento and absolutely love it! Why aren't these things more popular.

Well, after 5 1/2 years and 98500 Klm we are now trading off the Sorento. I am the original poster. It has been a great vehicle. In the time we have owned it, I've replaced the headlight bulbs, one fog light bulb and one taillight bulb. It has been a joy to own and very satisfactory in every way. It even has the original brake pads. We have had no problems or issues with it at all.

I am sure the next owner will enjoy this vehicle as much as we have.

Thanks for the updates. Kia (and Hyundai) are Korean cars that have made major improvements in recent years and it shows.
