2006 Land Rover Discovery TDV6 HSE 2.7 TD from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Great, but build quality is awful, dealer never seems to get them all fixed

Faults:

Mirrors didn't fold in/out a couple of times.

Mirrors don't always reset after switching from reverse back to drive, they remain in the downward position.

Front passenger seatbelt broken, doesn't go back in correctly - waiting for replacement.

Damaged leather on passenger door - waiting for replacement.

Bluetooth phone didn't work - now fixed.

Front sunroof shade was broken, was not in runners - it went into dealer and came out unfixed - friend fixed it!

Middle and rear sunroof shades don't stay closed, something wrong will have to be fixed.

Roof rails have discoloured, well gone blotchy - will have to get fixed.

Car lost all power when setting off - just happened the once so far.

General Comments:

Front seats take a bit of getting used to, headrests cannot be altered so it makes getting comfy difficult sometimes. The headrests should have been made to be altered as required.

Have alpaca leather and it gets dirty very easily and quickly, centre console is already pitted and I am not a farmer and do bathe frequently.

7 seats is great.

Lots of room, comfortable, drives very well and to be honest I love the car.

The only problem are the number of lingering small faults as listed.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I forgot something! The door seals on driver and passenger side were faulty on delivery as well, both have had to be replaced as it it was like driving in a wind tunnel at speeds over 50mph.

You better check yours thoroughly on delivery and perhaps mention some of these points as many seem similar to those in a 2005 Discovery.

Ah, I posted under Disco3 05 model and the dealer warned me about getting any interior other than black, said it looked good for about three weeks only.

Plus they said they hated servicing them when it had a light interior as it took just as long to clean as it did to service!

My 2005 HSE Tdv6 is a cracking car. 7 seats are very practical and all rear 5 disappear into the floor to make a very useful van.

I have had problems with power loss, wheel alignment, water ingress and software over the last 2.5 yrs, but all were fixed and none were inconvenient, the dealer arranged to pick up and return the car.

May even buy another!

I recently bought a Land Rover Discovery 4. They are utterly amazing. I first got the 2005 model and liked it so much I bought this one. In my 2005 model I had one fault fixed at the dealer in less than 10 minutes. I love Land Rovers and am thinking about getting a Range Rover.
