Question: do you know a few places to buy aftermarket parts for '92 LS 400? I just bought a '92, and I can't find anyone who sells the fog lamp bulb, except the Lexus dealership. I need to find an upper ball joint assembly, and it seems that I can only get that from Lexus. thanks, geoff --- ghal2000 at yahoo.

Have a 92 LS400 with 173K miles (great car) that when using the brakes and they get hot, feels like a rear disc is warped. Brakes cool down, no vibration until brakes get hot again. Any solutions?

Great car, issue with brakes & vibration, any ideas? temp and clock LCD blacked out, $700 to replace so live with it at 173K miles. Engine & transmission strong, 200K on the horizon! nestormj@aol.com.

I'm currently in the final stages of purchasing a 1992 LS400 with ~115k miles. And yes, the LCD clock/temp is fading out, *BUT*, I found a website that will sell you a new LCD for $160 U.S. and they also provide step-by-step directions, with nice clear pictures, on how you can replace with a new LCD board. If you have good mechanical skills and have ever used a soldering iron before, it looks and should be easy.

I just bought my 1992 Lexus LS400 with 87000 miles. Well maintained by original owner and still like new. I took it on a 1500 mile trip and it drove flawlessly. I got about 28 MPG round trip using premium gas. I have had many new cars before, Nissan Maxima, Buick, Etc. This 15yr old car performs better than any of those when they were new. It will be my last car as it will last me for a long time.

I bought my 92 LS400 in 2001 for $12,000 with 120,000 miles. It now has 240,000 miles on it and runs like new. I own property in Yuma, Arizona. I make trips up there at least once a week. This car takes those mountains in the extreme heat like a champ! The amazing thing about it is that I have never changed the spark plugs or have had a tune up. Just keep fresh oil and drive. AC is out, LCD clock display is out. Love this car.

Regarding the vibration on 92 LS400.. anyone replaced the center support bearing?

I have a 92 LS400 and it is a wonderful car. Right now I am fixing some issues, mainly in the front end. I have changed the brake lines, rotors, and I have some vibration in the front end and found out the wheel bearings are going bad, so now I have to get them changed. Other than that, I want to get the tapping out of the engine area...
