At 36,000 miles, seat back and front armrest make squeaky noises. The dealer said that it is caused by normal wear and tear of the leather.
Both front seat cushions slide left/right slightly when the car changes directions. The dealer said it is normal and did not solve the problem.
Minor rattling noise from the lower left cockpit.
This car is extremely quiet and smooth. A great highway cruiser.
Although this car is fast, it does not feel that way. The driver is reminded that this is a heavy car with a transmission that responds less than instantaneous.
Audio and A/C controls are too far from the driver. And there is no such controls on the steering wheel.
Audio volume control is way too sensitive.
Excellent review. Nearly all reviews on LS400 praise and glorify this car. This is a first review I've seen that gives an objective analysis of the car. What's more, it tells what potential problem areas should be looked at while buying it used. After all, there's no such a thing as a perfect car.
In every carton of fruit, there is one bad apple. Similarly, 99% of the Lexus cars that are manufactured are flawless for years and years, and in every condition. However the remaining 1% sometimes, I repeat sometimes, not always, sprout problems. I guess yours was one of those. I wonder if you took ample care of your car.
I feel sorry about your bad experience, but literally Lexus is unbeatable, and I tell you in a decade or two, BMW and Mercedez will be far behind Lexus in demand and quality!!!
The new LS 460 L is the first car in the world with 8 speed transmission, and the high tech gadgets and technology it's equipped with, I have not seen in any other car.
